I want anyone to be able to use this site, including people who use a screen reader, use a keyboard instead of a mouse, or zoom way in on a phone.

What we aim for

My goal is for this website to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Those are the widely used guidelines for making websites usable for people with disabilities.

What has been checked

On October 9, 2026, the website’s pages were checked against WCAG 2.1 AA with automated testing tools and by hand, on a computer and on a phone. Problems found in that review were fixed, except the items listed below. The checks covered:

  • Using the whole site with a keyboard only, with a visible outline showing where you are
  • A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page
  • Text descriptions for photos, so screen readers describe what is in them
  • Color contrast, so text is readable
  • A Pause button on the scrolling message bar
  • Pages that still work when zoomed in, with no sideways scrolling
  • Links that open a new tab say so

What isn’t perfect yet

  • The maps on the Home and Visit pages come from Google. When you move into a map with a keyboard, Google’s own controls take over. If a map doesn’t work for you, the store is at 687 S Taft Ave Unit B2, Mason City, IA 50401, and every “Get Directions” link opens Google Maps directly.
  • The text-alert sign-up is not working yet. It is marked “Coming soon.”
  • The contact and question forms on the Visit and Straight Talk pages are not connected yet. Please call 641-450-9721 instead.
