What this website collects, what it doesn’t, and what I’ll do with your number if you sign up for text alerts.
Who this covers
This policy covers johnnysdiscount.com, the website of Johnny’s Discount Warehouse, 687 S Taft Ave Unit B2, Mason City, IA 50401. It doesn’t cover other websites we link to, like Google or Facebook; they have their own policies.
What the website collects today
Right now the website doesn’t collect anything you type. The text-alert sign-up is switched off and marked “Coming soon.” The question forms on the Visit and Straight Talk pages aren’t connected yet, so anything typed there isn’t sent to us or saved. Please call 641-450-9721 instead.
Some information is collected automatically, the way it is on most websites:
- Our website host (Wix) may record basic technical details, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Wix also sets a small cookie used for that.
- Google receives your IP address when the page loads its fonts, the store map and our store settings. The map can set Google’s own cookies.
We don’t run advertising trackers, and we don’t sell anyone’s information.
When you call, text or visit
If you call, text or come into the store, I use what you tell me to help you: answer your question, hold a machine, or set up a payment plan. I don’t sell it or give it to anyone for their marketing.
Text alerts (coming soon)
When text alerts start, the sign-up will ask for your first name, cell number and what you’re looking for. Here is how they’ll work:
- You only get texts if you sign up and agree to them.
- I’ll use your number only to text you about new loads and what you asked about. Message frequency varies (usually a text or two when a load lands).
- Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop the texts at any time, or HELP for help.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Kids
This website isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Questions or requests
To ask what information we have about you, or to have it deleted, call 641-450-9721 or stop by the store. I’ll delete what we aren’t required to keep for sales or payment records.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
